Yeah, when I first saw the trailer, I thought this was going to be some more “Indepenence Day” bullshit. I had absolutely no intention of seeing it… well, no intention of PAYING for it, anyway.

Saw it yesterday — along with “Basterds” — and, I gotta say, I was wrong about this one. “District 9″ may be one of my favorite movies of the year. Very intelligent. Very well made. And the part of the movie that really did it for me — POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT: This is a movie of aliens landing on the Earth and the humans are the bad guys of the story. Fucking BRILLIANT.

Thank-the-god-I-don’-believe-in that this movie wasn’t made in America. We would have just fucked it up by substituting the plot for more explosions.

I didn’t expect this movie to be so good or so unrelenting. Like you I did expected it to blow it in the last act, but it went even further and showed balls and heart. The weird part was the comments I heard leaving the theatre. Some hated it, some loved it and some thought it was racist.

And no Hollywood is not going to listen. Like the Blair Witch Project, District 9 is a one shot deal. Once the Hollywood vultures get ahold of it, it’s just dick in the mashed potatoes.

I love this movie, it’s the best movie i’ve seen in a long time. When this comes out on DVD , I am totally going to get it!! If i could give it 1-5 stars, 5 being the highest, i would give it the full 5!! I love it!
