I just think that after ‘Borat’ everyone started watching ‘Da Ali G Show’ and so now everyone knows that Ali G, Borat, and Brüno are not real people. I think Sacha Baron Cohen should have taken some time to create a new character that no one has ever seen before, but instead he made the exact same movie with Brüno, that he made with Borat. Like I said in the review, if he had kept Brüno in the fashion world it would have at least been a different movie. My only problem with this film is that when they couldn’t get real reactions, because people knew Brüno wasn’t a real person, they hired actors to play people that would give them the reactions they wanted.

I absolutely loved this movie. I also think that considerably more than 10 percent of the situations here are real. And even the “fake” stuff (likely the blonde chick who tries to force him to have sex with her) is set in a real situation methinks (the rest of the swinger party is real, I’m sure).

AND – the fake stuff is hilarious. In my humble opinion.

It’s just that being a die hard Andy Kaufman fan, I would have liked it to have been a little more true to itself than it was. If you’re going to stage everything, that’s fine, but don’t pretend that it is all real. I get that enough from “reality” television, and it pisses me off to no end. I definitely don’t want to start being treated that way at the movies, because that is all we have left… sadly.
